Christians Bash Mr Vegas’ Hurricane Irma Relief Fund

International recording artiste Mr. Vegas is currently facing backlash from the Christian community about his most recent single “Adios Irma”. The single which serves as the campaign song behind his Hurricane Irma Relief Fund for persons affected in the Caribbean is stirring up much controversy online.

“When I recorded the single, it was out of love and concern for my Caribbean neighbours. I had no idea persons would make it a Christianity issue rather than seeing that I am trying to help” Shared Mr.Vegas.
Some online users are bashing the singer on the basis that the song leans more to the Dancehall side rather than the Gospel side of the musical scene.
One reader commented; “Nothing about humans surprise me anymore. Your relationship is between you and God but don’t preach gospel and come here and hold concerts like you are still living in the world”
In response, Mr. Vegas asked her to make a donation before she sends everyone to hell and continued by referring to her as a judgmental Christian fanatic.
“I am a child of God, a true Israelite descendant. Christianity was after Christ, therefore, I am a follower of Christ, I am not into the oppressive type, Christianity and religious extremism. I buss my music same way and pray right after my joyful heart is fulfilled. I don’t sing amazing grace, because I am no wretch. I sing heads high because they took me from sleeping on people’s floor and placed bread on Miss Lucille’s, (God bless her soul) table. Your slave master who wrote amazing grace is a wretch! Not I! Nevertheless, you sing what you want to sing and let me sing what I want to sing. “Let me work out my own salvation with fear and trembling, Philippians 2:12” Said Mr. Vegas in a status update.
“There are places in the Caribbean where people are literally fighting for food, take St. Martin for example, I and many other artistes have performed here before and there is little or no food available. This is not a joke; this is no time to think about religion. This situation is real, it is happening” He Added.
Even with the backlash, Mr. Vegas has managed to raise over $1000US thus far to aid those affected by hurricane Irma. Persons who are interested in helping are being urged to visit the official Go Fund Me page and share or donate
